The guys over at Brammo have been quite busy last couple weeks. They were testing electric race bike Empulse RR, over on Tunderhill Raceway and on some nice B roads. Brian Wismann (Director of Product Development) was the rider in the videos. After a disappointing debut at FIM e-Power Laguna (bike couldn’t race due to a mechanical failure) they are gearing up for the 2011 racing season – and it looks good from where we stand. Videos after the jump. Continue reading →

Valentino Rossi Shoulder Recovery Update

“I’m undergoing rehabilition on my shoulder and the situation is improving,” wrote Rossi. “It’s been two weeks since the operation, and this morning, Doctor Porcellini removed the stitches: and starting today I can go back to the gym to workout – at least on the rest of my body – and continue to work on the shoulder, even if it’s just passive rehab, to make sure we don’t lose any mobility. In two weeks’ time, I’ll start actively working out, in the pool and in the gym, to be ready for the three day test at the start of February. We will have to move as fast as we can, but I hope to be in pretty good shape for the first test of 2011 with the Ducati at Sepang. Ciao everyone.”

2001 Crampton Classic

This is Ian Cramp’s version of modern Cafe Racer and it was build back in 2001. Weighing only 172kg and with a power output of 147HP, this classic packed a sweet punch. Creator described this bike as “an exclusive, limited edition, hand-built motorcycle made in England using British parts wherever possible, combining traditional appearance and craftsmanship with modern performance.” Initially the project had a full support of Triumph factory, but as the first working prototype was built, Triumph decided not to supply engines to Ian Cramp any more. That was the end of this epic cafe racer. Continue reading →
