This is definitely a “first” for us at Bikers Cafe Blog. It regards Moto Morini, a “dead” Italian brand and their temporary comeback on the market. But before we got too excited, we found out that comeback isn’t the one we’ve all expect. Piero Aicardi, Moto Morini’s receiver (the person in charge of handling the company’s affairs during the liquidation/bankruptcy process), wants to re-open the Bologna factory to assemble 45 bikes that are apparently sitting as parts in the factory!? The sale of this bikes should cover some of Moto Morini’s debt.
Re-opened factory will re-assemble 16 Scamblers and 29 Granpasso’s and try to sell them for €6,300 – €7,100 ($8,500 – $9,600). This news would come as the last chance for bike collectors to snatch up some of the last Moto Morini ever. Some of the Grandpasso’s adventure bikes would have yellow painted frames – originally intended for Granferro – making them even more exclusive, rare and unique. Despite the fact that the last motorcycles (some 250 + last batch of 45) come without the warranty, Aicardi should have no problems to sell them at all. In March this year Moto Morini would go for an auction.
