Valentino Rossi tearing the dirt track with the Zaeta

Pictures: Riders Magazine
Although Valentino Rossi is still feeling the effects of his injured right shoulder, this doesn’t mean that he can not have some fun with his father Graziano. Nine time World Champion looks very relaxed riding the famous Zaeta Ouroboros, a dirt track motorcycle-creation by no-one-else but his father (and some engineers of course). We are not sure how happy the Ducati Corse team is, when they see this video, but we can’t but admire the Doctor tearing the dirt track with such an ease.  Continue reading →

WSBK Riders / Safety Commission

Riders participating in the World Superbike have begun establishing a safety commission in order to protect them selves safety wise, in this championship. A first meeting was held in Portimao during the official test at the end of January. The main reason the riders meet around a table is the race at Donington in late March. Most of the speakers at that first meeting were in fact against riding on English track in late March, fearing that the climate and temperatures are more suitable for a ski race thus resulting in the high risk of falling and injuries.

Aprilia Caponord / Tuareg 1200: the first spy photos of the new enduro Street Noale

This is the final confirmation that project Aprilia-enduro is going strong. Picture shows the latest spy photo of the new Caponord / Touareg 1200 motorcycle (the name is still a mystery), the adventure bike that will target the same market segment as the Ducati Multistrada 1200 and BMW R1200GS with. KTM 990 SMT is not entirely part of this group, but still will be something that Aprilia would try to match. It is apparent that this bike is related to a well known Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 – or to be even more direct, it is a Dorsoduro with a protective fairing, more comfortable seat, travel luggage and space for the passenger. Chassis and engine remain the same as the maxi motard, presented last year.  Continue reading →

BMW S1000RR Superstock / Limited Edition

Ayrton Badovini managed to destroy the 2010 FIM Superstock 1000 Championship, wining 9 races out of 10, just to finish second in tenth race. In that respect, BMW Italia will release 50 units of S1000RR Superstock Limited Edition bikes, each with it’s own number, and by default coming in one type of configuration. Already a potent motorcycle, this S1000RR will come with a bunch of aftermarket goodies like Akrapovic “racing exhaust, BMW Italia racing colors, LED turn signals, carbon fiber panels and Gilles Tooling rearsets and levers. BMW R 100 Earl Grey by Urban Motor / Berlin

If you would like to purchase something a little less ordinary, than this fine piece of machinery coming from Urban Motor / Berlin, is for you. Based on BMW 1983 R80G, it features very clean lines and proportions as it’s aesthetics were refined through subtle introduction of Cafe Racer style. It took more than 400 man hours to complete a restoration. Frame and small parts were stripped down, sand blasted and powder coated in black. Engine is “borrowed” from a bigger R100RS and then fitted onto the smaller frame, while gearbox and clutch were overhauled. Two 40mm carbs plus K&N filters are there to help this bike breath properly. Exhaust is finished with Hoskins 2-in-2. Price? A cool 25k euro. Continue reading →

Rossi not satisfied / Sepang test

After a positive start and the progress that Ducati Marlboro Team achieved in the first test in Sepang / Malaysia, the second test ended below everyones expectations. Valetino Rossi and Nicky Hayden finished 11th and 12th respectively, not being able to close any gaps between them and the leading pack. Due to the illnes, Vale had to skip the second day of testing, thus shortening the time for crucial GP11 setups to a minimum.  Continue reading →

The New Morgan ThreeWheeler is Out!

Morgan really done it this time. Their new ThreeWheeler is just simply amazing. Powered with the semi-modern V-Twin, fuel injected, 115hp engine, with all that power transfered to the back single wheel via Mazda five-speed gearbox. Aesthetics are top notch, and in some places the new tubular chassis is left uncovered. There is a place for driver, co-driver and some luggage. Continue reading →

Building the Ducati Diavel in one minute

Ducati is planing for their new 2011 Diavel to lead Bologna’s company sales in 2011. As we can’t see all those sales, at least we can see some cool time elapsed video of how one of this amazing bikes is being assembled. Currently there are 40 Diavel’s built per day, but Ducati is planing to bring the production up by 50%. We would have to thank to MCN for this video. They were granted an exclusive look at the Diavel production lines. Discovery? Plan for 8000 build Diavels over the next year – as many as the highly successful Multistrada.

Custom Buell Cafe Racer by Krook Street Racing

We found this interesting concept over on Krook Street Racing blog. Although the number of such “photoshop features” is growing in numbers on blogs around the world, we take each and everyone very seriously. Couple of things are very interesting with this type of motorcycle building: you can mix and match any part from any motorcycle manufacturer, and things can easily work together. And all that just to achieve very high levels of art satisfaction. Take this motorcycle for example, Krook Street Racing created motorcycle with an engine and other components they like, and then started sourcing part around. In the process, they found that Buell engines are proved to be on expensive side, and difficult to source. So they moved on…easy. Continue reading →
