Vespa World Days 2011: Thousands arrive in Norway from all over Europe


Thousands of Vespa riders reached Gjøvik, Norway, to take part in the annual town meeting called Vespa World Days 2011. The edition, which celebrates the iconic brand, ended early afternoon yesterday after a whole weekend of fun and entertainment.

The event consisted of riding Vespas around the town of Gjøvik to evening shows with music and live programmes. As is the tradition, at 10 o’clock on Saturday morning, the first Vespa started the parade. Thousands of Vespas, of many colours and patterns, specimens from the vintage and the new range, marched in a colourful procession of more than 80 km, ending in the afternoon with an air show. BMW not entering MotoGP immediately


BMW will not enter MotoGP until they have found success in the World Superbike championship with the S1000RR, according to BMW Motorrad’s General Director Hendrik von Kuenheim. Regarding the company’s entry into MotoGP, von Kueheim went on record saying: “As things stand we see no reason to query our involvement in the Superbike World Championship.
