WTF of the Day / VW Jetta Commercial

If you watch this commercial half-brained, you would probably say it’s semi-dumb. But if you just slightly switch on your grey matter cells – you’ll see the FAIL on so many levels. Comparing bikes and cars – apples and oranges, making fun of the exploring part of motorcycle riding and being exposed to elements, looking “geeky” with other riders because of the bike your riding etc. But that’s not the worst part. Lockheed Lounge / Custom Honda 360 by Jason Tiedeken

We’re still unsure whether this bike is finished or not, but that almost doesn’t matter as it already looks stunning the way it is. The Lockheed Lounge (bikes name) was thought and built by a creative bloke called Jason Tiedeken, setting the new design standards for custom bikes. To keep things radical from the start Jason opted for a unconventional steel tube frame chassis, a 4-link front suspension and a supercharged Honda’s tiny 360cc twin parallel engine. The geometry is very close to Suzuki GSX-R 750′s. Continue reading →

1990 Norton F1 / Rotary Beauty…and the Beast

Norton made quite a few rotary motorcycles back in the days (mid-1980s and early-1990s) but none of them were very successful. Yet there was a special one that made a difference – and it was unsuccessful as well! You guessed it – the legendary Norton F1. Something of a 90s Desmosedici RR, Norton had the it all to become legendary – 588cc liquid cooled engine, 95hp@9500rpm, race background and US$45,000 price tag. Yes, that was in the 90′s.
