This is the first official picture in 2012 of the reigning World Champion Casey Stoner with a number 1 plate on his new RC213V 1000cc motoGP prototype, unveiled at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Last year was very successful (almost an understatement) for HRC and Casey as they won Triple Crown – rider, team, manufacturer. Although this years lineup is down to 2 riders (Andrea Dovizioso moved to CRT team) Shuhei Nakamoto, HRC executive vice president, stated: “We fully trust in our riders Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa to deliver this big challenge and we will give them all our technical and human support.”
The first pre-season testing starts today at Sepang circuit. The Casey and Dani will ride essentially the same bike they tested in Valencia last year, with some minor changes that they’ve requested.
The visit to the Malaysian track was a good time to visit the place where Marco Simoncelli lost his life, and for HRC team to pay their respects with a minute of silence.
