1971 Husqvarna 400 Cross

Don’t miss out on this one, as bikes like these are getting harder and harder to find. The original 1971 Husqvarna 400 Cross, 2-stroke monster, the same model that legendary Steve McQueen rode for the famous cover shot of the Sports Illustrated magazine. All the original chrome parts, nuts and bolts were either cleaned, restored, and polished (or all three), while the engine was rebuilt with only 10 running hours since then. Continue reading →

Valentino Rossi’s Ducati GP12 “Phoenix” Prototype Motorcycle / Aluminum Frame

..could Ducati expose that all new aluminum frame a bit more!?!?…

These are some of the first pictures of the all new (well 90% of it) 2012 Ducati 1000cc GP12 prototype showing “proudly” the aluminum frame that replaced the last year carbonfiber monocoque structure. While we are writing these lines, we can do anything else but wonder: if it wasn’t for Rossi – would Ducati ever change their design…and then in such a short period of time?!? The answer is probably NO. But here’s the catch. The PR and marketing machinery of Bologna’s brand used this bad situation and turned it into the headline news – almost putting the mammoth effort of Casey and Honda onto the second pages! 2012 Honda HRC Repsol Team Unveiling / Casey Stoner No.1 plate on RC213V

This is the first official picture in 2012 of the reigning World Champion Casey Stoner with a number 1 plate on his new RC213V 1000cc motoGP prototype, unveiled at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Last year was very successful (almost an understatement) for HRC and Casey as they won Triple Crown – rider, team, manufacturer. Although this years lineup is down to 2 riders (Andrea Dovizioso moved to CRT team) Shuhei Nakamoto, HRC executive vice president, stated: “We fully trust in our riders Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa to deliver this big challenge and we will give them all our technical and human support.” Continue reading →

Bott Power XR-1

Last time we heard of Bott Power was in March, 2011, when they produced one of the sexiest renderings of their Buell XB motorcycle. The hi-tech moto company from Spain didn’t stopped there, but went on to produce a full running version of this amazing concept! With all the main parts already fabricated – they are currently assembling the bike and putting the final touches to it! Just take a look at the detail of the headlight and the oil cooler – whoa…amazing! Continue reading →

The Black Douglas Motorcycle Co. / Sterling 2012

This is something nice for a change. A very young Italian manufacturer – The Black Douglas Motorcycle Co. – released a vintage looking old-school motorcycle called the Sterling 2012. Although the whole concept is built around the moto designs from 1920′s and 30′s – it uses the modern technology to make it suitable by todays standards. The frame is vintage in design but it’s much stiffer thanks to the modern manufacturing process, and so is the Trapezoid front fork. Continue reading →

2012 MotoGP / Handlebar Protection Mandatory in all Classes

In close moto racing there is a big risk of an accidental handlebar contact between two riders. This can often lead to unintentional steering input, acceleration or the most dangerous – braking, that usually ends in catastrophic crash. That is the main reason why from 2012 in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 the lever protection systems are becoming mandatory. One of the big manufacturers of such protection is an Italian brand Rizoma, which produces patented Proguard Systems for quite some time now. Continue reading →
