Takhion Replica by Olli Erkkila

The name Takhion comes from physics and represents a hypothetical subatomic particle that always travels faster than speed of light! And the Russians used it for their bicycle brand developed in Khrakov, Ukraine (former USSR) from 1981 to 1992, that produced close to 400 custom bikes mostly for the road, track and time trials competitions. Several USSR National Championships, and at least one World Championship, have been won on Takhion. When you read a story like this, your inspiration for bicycles goes wild…and so was Olli Erkkila’s…he build his own Takhion.

The talented designer create a bike that looks so good that it almost a sin to ride it. The detail that really stands out are the handlebars mounted directly to the fork – for that superlow aerodynamic position and some weight saving. What a beautiful custom bike, Bravo Olli!
