Buell X1 by Buchholz Custom

We absolutely love this bike – a brilliant idea and a perfect execution by the Buchholz Custom / Germany. So what is it? It’s a custom Buell X1 1200cc engine attached to the heavily modified Harley-Davidson Sportster XL frame. The swingarm and the linkage was borrowed from Honda CB1100SF X11, the rear shock is Ohlins and the wheels are Honda VTR1000SP2 pieces. It’s all finished off with a Mikuni 40mm flat side carburetor breathing through a K&N filter while the exhaust gasses are exiting via Akrapovic system – powder coated black. Continue reading →

Audi SC-1 SuperScooter based on Ducati Desmoscooter

Yes, it sounds complicated, yet it makes a lot of sense…

We’ve announced some time ago that Audi is considering to move into the motorcycle production as well as the famous German “four rings” bought the Italian Ducati. Rumors say that they will use Ducati’s experience (and couple of unfinished projects) to (most likely) produce a re-branded Ducati Desmoscooter. The speculations of the V-Twin 848cc engine, the choice between automatic and sequential transmission (at the flip of the switch), 16inch wheels and trellis / cast metal frame are almost outrageous – but at the same time ones that we would love to happen. Laguna Seca / USA MotoGP 2012 / Casey Stoner Victorious for the Third Time

It was a brilliant race for the young (but already retiring :() Casey Stoner at the 2012 Laguna Seca USA MotoGP. Starting from 2nd position on the grid, and being the only leading rider on Soft rear tire, Casey got off to a “slow” start, allowing Dani Pedrosa to take the second and Jorge to retain the lead. It all started to look too familiar with Jorge opening a small gap in the beginning of the race. Casey got past Dani and set to pursuit Lorenzo to try and take the lead. Continue reading →

BMW C Evolution / Bavarian Electric Maxi Scooter

This is a pre-production prototype electric maxi scooter – the BMW C Evolution. There are 5 prototypes in total which will be shown at various events around the Europe and after this stage the Bavarians will be presenting the final production model. The design very much rely on the BMW E-Concept study from couple of months back and that’s a good thing. The scooter is powered by the 14.8hp DC electric motor (peak power is 49.6hp) and performance wise it should sit right in the pack with 600cc scooters…at least up till 120km/h – which is C Evolution’s top speed. HD Scrambler Rod 17 / Cuco moto

This has to be one of the nicest custom Harley-Davidson “Scramblers” that we ever came across. Maybe the only one. Built by very talented people from Cuco Moto/Spain, the “HD Rod 17” hit all our sweet spots when it comes to HD dirt machines. We love the way that bike looks like it came out the factory (stock-like isn’t it?) as you could hardly tell that this is a custom. If Harley would ever to release a Scrambler bike, this would be pretty close. The proportions are important part of the overall look and the HD Rod 17 is totally balanced, with masses in the right place while the rake and the height of the motorcycle correlate perfectly. Nero / Custom Chang Jiang 750 by Bandit9

Bandit9 firmly positioned themselves on the World Custom Motorcycle map with their latest project – the “Nero”. Using the trusty Chang Jiang 750 as the base of the project, this custom Chinese workshop managed to transform the old military bike into a thing of beauty and something that will roam around the “WWW” for years to come. Fully blacked out, or as they say “murdered out”, Nero features the custom exhaust, headlight, gas tank and cap, rear fender and brake light, turn signals and switches, seat and handlebars. Aston Martin One-77 Bicycle

So the Aston Martin says that they build “the world’s most technologically advanced road bicycle”. Well, we very much doubt that the One-77 Cycle is what they say it is. Space age materials and the development along side F1, Le Mans and MotoGP…it’s just amazing how far the marketing and the press release team can take the story, bending the facts and twisting the truth. And as far as we see, the bike wasn’t build at all, yet… Continue reading →

BMW S1000RR HP4 / German “Panigale”

Z Germans had to respond somehow to the direct threat from Italians in the shape of Ducati Panigale 1199 S, and this is how they did it. Meet the new BMW S1000RR HP4, a 26 lbs lighter (dry), DDC (Dynamic Damping Control) equipped, pure track attack monster that will be available at your favorite Bavarian dealer. But, let’s get something straight – the BMW S1000RR is diabolically quick in stock form and it’s the lightest four cylinder hyper bike on the market (373 lbs dry). Who the he** will use more mid-range torque, semi-active suspension and crazy powerful brakes on the street, or anywhere for that matter, is beyond us. Continue reading →

Carbon Fiber Aprilia RSV4 Factory Down Under

Let’s get the facts straight – the Carbon Fiber Special Edition of the latest Aprilia RSV4 Factory bike is absolutely bonkers, mad, crazy-exclusive and super-expensive. Yet somehow it represents an object of such irresistible desire that it would easily make the sanest and most calculated rider spend it’s entire life savings in an blink of an eye. And we have to say that we understand this poor, sane and calculated man. Who wouldn’t, for only $10 000AUS more, buy (what buy, steal) a $39 990AUS machine with the following specifications: Continue reading →

BMW R75/5 custom #14 by CRD

…is this deliberately looking like a “Great Escape”???

This is CRD‘s project number 14 and their first custom BMW. And what a magnificent 75/5 it is. Built with a group of friends, Pedro created one of the finest machines to ever leave the Spanish workshop. The local BMW specialist Javier (MaxBOXER) helped to resurrect the vintage 749cc engine, Robert did his magic with the welding and Ufo Efra painted the whole bike. There is soooo much custom work done but here’s the readers digest: custom fenders and mudguards, totally redesigned rear subframe + a custom leather seat, reworked suspension, knobby tires and a fully custom exhaust. Two tone paint for the gas tank, custom brush guard to protect the oil sump on those rocky rides and improved carburetors. Continue reading →
