At this year’s EICMA, BMW presented the DoubleR RaceAir – its own racing suit made using Dainese D-air racing technology. This is the first product that the Munich-based company has introduced to the market after signing a cooperation agreement with Dainese to develop systems aimed at improving the passive safety of motorcyclists.
D-air is the outcome of a technological leap forward that breaks away from the traditional kind of standard protectors, introducing an intelligent platform capable of detecting accidents and intervening independently of the rider. Continue reading →
“If riding a motorcycle is a passion, then riding a boxer is its greatest fulfillment. BMW Motorrad presents the new BMW R nineT. This classic flat twin combines the best of two worlds: timeless, classic design and proven, yet modern technology. The R nineT embodies PURE RIDING” – BMW Motorrad
Leaving the modern world behind them thousands of punters celebrated in style at 2013′s Goodwood Revival. The timing was perfect for us at BMW Motorrad as we are also celebrating our 90 year anniversary. Let’s travel back into time where color TV was not invented and style was omnipresent.
Emporio Elaborazioni Meccaniche produced their own version of the BMW R80 RT. Think about the Scrambler motorcycle borrowing design cues from the coach built cars of the 1920s and 30s. Of course it was all stripped down, cleaned of the unnecessary clutter and started as the blank canvas. Details like handmade leather footrest and modified headlight housing, two wrenches that support the headlight and custom 2 in 1 exhaust is what differentiate this build from other similar looking customs from the past. And just to keep the custom R80 BMW theme going – check out this cool bratstyle by Tarmac Custom Motorcycles. A beautiful scrambler / flat tracker painted in flat blue and black (for tank and frame), featuring vintage Montesa handlebars, custom minimal wiring harnes and some tastefully white wheels rims. The stance of the bike is amazing (the stock BMW look kinda awkward from the side), with the custom leather seat and rear frame loop done to perfection. Heat shielded 2 in 1 custom exhaust and some wicket intake details – gorgeous. Continue reading →
This is actually pretty cool…if you’re in Germany/Europe that is. BMW released a special Motorsport Edition of their popular C600 Maxi Scooter, an exclusive small production model in two variants showing BMW’s commitment to DTM racing. But that’s not all. Beside cool black or white together with some M stripes, your getting a chance to actively participate in one of the DTM spectacles. Continue reading →
It’s been quite a while since we last heard of Lazareth. You remember the crazy-inovative french custom builder who created V8 powered Mini Cooper pickup and V12 Wazuma Bio?
Halfway between a Scrambler and a café racer, the BMW R1200R was build when one of the customers asked for a neo-scrambler. Lazareth took the BMW R1200GS and stripped it down to the motor, swingarm and wheels. The whole new custom frame was built, scraping the telelever system in the front, now holding the R6 Yamaha front forks – mounted through the custom set of tipple trees with enough room for the fat front tire.
