Yamaha XS360 / The Hookie

1

Yamaha’s XS360 never sold in huge numbers, admittedly outshone by its slighty bigger sibling, the XS400. Interestingly, both bikes featured an almost identical parallel-twin, air-cooled mill with a crank off-set of 180 degrees, as well as the same 6-speed transmission and frame.

This neat XS360 is by German custom shop, The Hookie, who have retained the most characteristic aspects of the bike while adding a little bit of their own flavour. The original handlebars have been ditched in favour of a pair of classic clip-ons, while a custom all-in-one seat/rear cowling comes in place of the stock seat. Other bits include a custom exhaust, cleaned up mid-frame section, knobbly rubber and deleted fenders. Scroll down for more images. Continue reading →

Hardcore Day in Hockenheim / 20th Anniversary

_MG_0379

Around 20 years ago, Marcus Walz started his business customising motorcycles, beginning with the “Timeless” in 1993. Two decades on, more than 3000 friends, fans and clients celebrated the anniversary at Hockenheim, many of them bringing their own WALZ bikes to the Show.

Apart from the bikes, Mr. King Kerosin himself organized the legendary Red Carpet Lounge in the middle of the party tent, which was much bigger than last year. Some crazy on-stage party too, with Dougie and the Blind Brothers and the Hellabama Honky Tonks partying till they dropped.

Anyways, enough with the yabba dabba. Check out the mega image gallery. Continue reading →
