This beautiful Honda CB750 Four custom is Sur Les Chapeaux De Roues’ first custom project built for a customer. According to Manuel “This 1976 Honda CB750 Four was commissioned by our very first customer from Paris. Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda RC213V) won the 2013 MotoGP World Championship in superb style at Valencia on Sunday when he finished the season finale in third place. The result secured him a historic crown – he is now the youngest premier-class king in history – by four points from Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha) at the end of a thrilling and fascinating championship campaign. Marquez’s brilliance gives Honda its 16th riders’ title, three decades after its first premier-class crown won by Freddie Spencer in 1983. Continue reading →
This awesome bike took birth from a rather simple idea. You know, turbochargers are ‘the’ most common solution for extra speed these days, to the point where I can say to some random dude “Hey man, you think slow, maybe you should add a turbo!” or something like that. Even then, adding boost to a Honda Monkey seems like overkill, but that is exactly what UK-based OORacing did, thanks to their massive experience in turbocharging multi-cylinder engines. Remarkably, Repsol Honda Team’s Marquez has finished on the podium in every race bar one since he joined the premier class at the start of 2013. To date, he has recorded six Grand Prix victories, eight pole positions and no less than ten fastest laps as well as – at 20 years of age – becoming the youngest ever rider to claim a pole position and race victory. He will be crowned World Champion this weekend, with two races still to go, should he leave Phillip Island with a points lead of 51 or more; this would make him the first rookie premier class title winner for some 35 years. This Honda ST50 Dax was hand-built by Japanese custom motorcycle legend Seigu Ikeuchi, whose company Bodyline Customs is one of Japan’s foremost custom vehicle builders. It was inspired by the long, low motorcycles used for drag racing although with its 4.5hp rating from its 49cc engine, it probably won’t break the 11 second 1/4 mile. Continue reading →
You might have come across a few creations by French builder Pure Motorcycles, who excel at tweaking vintage Japanese motorcycles, especially the Honda CB500. Cafes, brats, trackers, whatever they might be, they’re all crowd pullers. The amount of detail that goes into each build is amazing, and photos don’t really do them justice, we tell you! And when it comes to something like the CB500, it’s sort of the perfect beach-hopping bike, and when it comes to being in the south of France, all you need are jeans, tees, sneakers and an open-face lid.
