Since then he’s been refining and tuning the bike and planning the final touches to get finish this beast of a project off. We showed you German builder Kingston Customs’ beautiful stripped down BMW R75/6 a while ago, and now they are back with this tastefully customised Honda CX500 café racer. Dirk Oehlerking from Kingston ditched all the original plastic bits for proper metal. Even every screw and component was checked, machined, modified or newly made. The V-twin engine receives a a thermo-sensitive coating, with the exhaust manifold getting wrapped with thermal tape. Continue reading →
Al-Futtaim Honda has marked its entry in to the UAE motor sport circuit with the sponsorship of two-time and reigning UAE Superbike champion Mahmoud Tannir. The sponsorship agreement will see Mahmoud, 38, a Lebanese national; ride a Honda CBR 600.
Mahmoud Tannir commenting on the sponsorship said: “Honda has a very rich history in racing and I’m extremely happy to be part of the Al-Futtaim Honda family. I am looking forward to my first race on the new bike and I am confident the Honda Package will ensure that I stay at the top of my game.”
Exesor Motorcycles’ custom Honda CB250 is a parts-bin special of sorts, but a very nicely engineered one at that. It receives a Honda CB360 engine bored out to 390cc, Honda CB400F swingarm, Honda CL360 exhaust header, CB250K0 front drum, CB250G rear drum and Suzuki Bandit 600 rear sets. The work of Christian, a 38 year-old Austrian who builds motorcycles in his spare time, the bike started life as a 1976 CB250 on eBay, sold cheap due to its pitiful state of affairs. The acclaimed ‘TT Legends’ documentary, which goes behind-the-scenes with the Honda TT Legends team during the 2012 Endurance World Championship and road racing season, is to make its official YouTube debut on the HondaProRacing channel.
The eight-part series produced by Gaucho Productions was originally broadcast on ITV4 in the UK and is due to be shown on Fox Australia this year. The Gaucho crew was granted exclusive access to the 2012 Honda TT Legends line-up of John McGuinness, Cameron Donald and Simon Andrews as they took on some of the world’s toughest motorcycle races – from the iconic Suzuka 8-hour and the gruelling Le Mans 24-hour to the super-fast North West 200 and the legendary Isle of Man TT.
