Ducati-Alstare-1199-Panigale

14 years is a long time by any means – unless you’re into inter-galactic travel – and the 2013 World Superbike Championship season is witness to Belgian outfit Team Alstare ending their stint with Suzuki Racing, and beginning a new one with Ducati Corse. We know that Team Ducati Alstare might sound a bit odd, thanks to the close association with Suzuki, but as they say, time heals everything. Check out the two videos by Team Alstare, which shows them say goodbye to Suzuki and hello to the Italian marque. Continue reading →

Michael Jackson Hayabusa / Autoweek

hayabusa

After covering the Long Beach Motorcycle Show in December, the Autoweek Brain Trust ran across these photos that they had all but forgotten about. But here it is again, for your viewing pleasure; a chromed-out Suzuki Hayabusa – arguably the bastion of terrible motorcycle taste – lovingly paying tribute to Michael Jackson. Every facet of Jackson memorabilia is covered, including the Jackson 5 and Bubbles. Lovingly airbrushed with plenty of chrome, an extended swingarm, and a leather seat presumably made from a crocodile at Neverland Ranch. Awesome. Continue reading →

Hot on the heels of the news that Suzuki will stop selling cars in the USA, comes the next one – the Japanese firm’s Spanish motorcycle division will stop its activities by the end of Q1 2013. The decision has been taken due to accumulated losses created by the reduction and general condition of the current economy in Europe. Continue reading →

Lifestyle / Coyote Saddlebag by Giant Loop

The Coyote Saddlebag is right there among the best choices for hardcore off-road expeditions on dirt bike or dualsport model motorcycles. Straps on and stays on, no matter what.

Travel lighter and faster with the only saddle bag system that combines two motorcycle panniers and a tail bag into a single biomorphic shape, requiring no sub-frame modifications, racks or braces. For dualsport and offroad dirt bike touring, there’s no better saddlebag to carry your gear, we think. For supermoto and motard style bikes, the Coyote Saddlebag is the clean, streamlined saddlebag to pack rain gear and other essentials for the city. Continue reading →

Custom / Suzuki DR650 / Deus ex Machina

Trust the guys at Deus ex Machina to take a bike as good as the sweet Suzuki DR650 and make it even better. While the thing is readily available in America and Australia, that’s not the case in Indonesia, where you’d have to import it, which means taxes and added costs. Continue reading →

Europe’s sole Yoshimura X1 Hayabusa goes under the hammer

In between the builds and the cool videos, something like this comes up once in a while. A super-rare Yoshimura X1 Hayabusa – well it’s rumoured to be the only one in the western world – has gone under the hammer as part of the Aled Jenkins collection at a Bonhams auction in Stafford.
