We absolutely love the SuperMotard bikes – and the 2012 Yamaha YZ450SM is no exception. Who wouldn’t love the “reverse” tilted engine cylinder and the component repositioning for the unprecedented mass centralisation and some silly bike control. In order to take corners even faster Yamaha fitted the latest Slippery Clutch STM – for those less experienced with the corner angles and the approach as for the fastest guys on the track. The front suspension have been lowered 30mm, the rear by 10mm, and both are fitted with a stiffer set of springs. 310mm wave discs are fitted together with a Brembo calipers for the full stopping power.

16.5inch wheels in front, 17 inch wheels in the back, Excel rims in black with the CHT Chiaravalli billet alloy gold anodized hubs. The bike comes with Dunlop slicks from the factory. Of course there is more technical details that we didn’t mention, but there is something else. The bike looks absolutely gorgeous. We cant think of anything else than a competition front light, some small indicators and a DIY side stand….just to be able to ride this gem on the street!

Desmohog custom bike gotta be one of the craziest creations we’ve seen in a while. The looks is not that different, the radical part is the engine design How about a Harley engine’s bottom end coupled with some nice Ducati 900SS cylinder heads!? As if the gear/belt system isn’t complicated enough with the stock Ducati’s, the brave builder from CrossBreed Cycles had to create a completely new one for the Desmohog. Not being an expert in CAD software – we have to say he did a cracking job!

Stock stroke and bore, Carillo rods, two rear Ducati 900SS cylinder heads, Keith black pistons, and a pair of custom cylinders – it’s all there and it’s functioning perfectly! Beautifully MAD cafe racer! It’s just amazing!

You can create a beautiful cafe racer even with a Yamaha XJR1200. Take a look at the latest creation from the Italian shop called Emporio Elaborazioni (EE). Nicknamed “Mastino” or Mastiff (breed of large hound dogs) – it’s an interesting mix of japanese, italian and down right crazy. The fuel tank was sourced from the Ducati Imola with an interesting fuel gauge system – it never says empty – it just shows what we usually say when we come to a no-fuel-stop…F@#$!. The engine and the most of the mechanics are from big muscle Yamaha, but the guys from EE done their best to remove all the unnecessary stuff, keeping the bikes weights to a minimum.
The seat come from the Norton Manx, rear shocks are Ohlins, the tank is being held by the No.13 spanner and you can notice a cheeky flask tucked away beneath the seat and the tank – just showing how crazy Italians can be.
Not sure how would this modification improve the bike’s performance – but we’re sure it would improve riders! Maniaco!!!

Brilliant, right?

It took Tony Pandolfo nearly seven years to figure out how to integrate a jet engine in almost any motorcycle’s chassis. And now – finally – you can order yours – and it would be finished in mere 6 months! Mental! For his first project Tony choose the Suzuki GSX-R1100, fully built it, and manage to sell it last year. The very same bike was featured in six different motorcycle magazines around the world and created quite a stir (like that a surprise). For his second project the bike was obvious – the stock-ish looking 1st gen Suzuki Hayabusa. Read more about this genius-lunacy after the jump!

With some 300lbs.ft of torque coming from the military jet fighter engine, Tony said he went mild with the power. The dry weight is only 400lbs, while the tank holds 5 gallons of kerosine fuel – good for 25 miles – you do the math. Price? A cool US$60,000.

It was in 2002 when Tony Pandolfo and Gene Lewis, both boat racers from Orlando, Florida, decided they would put a jet engine into a sport motorcycle.

The project took longer than the men had hoped – seven years, in fact – but in 2009, they put the finishing touches on the world’s first and only jet-turbine-powered Suzuki GSX-R1100. After their fire-spitting bike was unveiled at Orlando’s Stunt Wars in January, it was featured in the pages of Motorcyclist, 2 Wheel Tuner, Streetfighter, Super Streetbike, Bomber (Finland), and Street Monsters (France).

Now, Pandolfo and his associates have completed their second project: a first-generation Suzuki Hayabusa outfitted with a jet fuel starter from a military fighter jet. As mean as this bike is, it has an uncanny habit of attracting people. Once you hear the sound of the ignition – it’s like something out of a science-fiction movie – you’ll understand why. As an added crowd-pleaser, the jet Hayabusa comes equipped with an afterburner that produces a wall of flame nearly as large as the bike itself.

Because of the additional torque from the jet engine, the braking and power systems have been “beefed up” considerably.

Here are some of the specific ways this one-of-a-kind bike differs from a factory Hayabusa:

– Engine: AlliedSignal jet fuel starter (also known as an auxiliary power unit or APU), used in early-model F-14s and A-10s
– Torque: 300 ft/lbs
– Weight: 400 lbs, dry
– Fuel Type: K2 Kerosene or Jet A
– Fuel Capacity: 5 gallons
– Fuel Consumption: 5 miles/gallon
– Double the braking power (two rear calipers)
– Custom control system
– Automatic transmission; no clutch
– LED headlights and taillights

This bike is on sale for $60,000 USD.

For buyers in the United Arab Emirates: JC Motors estimates that shipping by sea from Los Angeles to Dubai will cost between $2,800 and $3,200. The entire shipping process, from first order to arrival, should take roughly two months. The emirate of Dubai imposes a 5% import tax, which translates into a surcharge of $3,000 on the bike.

***AN IMPORTANT FINAL NOTE: If the Hayabusa isn’t quite your style, but jet power is, know that Pandolfo can put a jet turbine in virtually any motorcycle chassis. Be it Harley Davidson, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Ducati, Aprilia. . .you name it…he welcomes the opportunity! Email jetpowercycles@gmail.com or call +1 407 505 5538 (+1 407 5055 JET) for more details.

The good looking custom Harley doesn’t have to have all the latest bells and whistles mounted on them. Sometimes it’s better just to remove most of the stuff, which are not needed after all (IMHO), as the good guys from Shaw Speed & Custom did. Their latest Iron XL883N with a nice flat blue tank, all stripped down – is the kind of the bike we like to ride around the streets and B-roads. Using the RSD Clip-Ons and the new Cafe seat they’ve managed to create the raw looking cafe-racer HD bike without spending much.
