This is the New 2012 Yamaha TMAX maxi scooter. For years this beauty was the top selling unit throughout the Europe and the rest of the world and now it’s a good moment to make things even better. Yamaha opted for the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” philosophy when it came to changes for the latest model. The look is more agressive and dynamic now, yet the bike is instantly recognized as the TMAX. Power comes from the revised 530cc, 46bhp, twin-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, DOHC engine, delivering more torque at any engine speed with 10% of maximum torque already available below the 1000rpm mark! Max. torque = 39lb/ft (58Nm)
Increase in the maneuverability and stability was achieved using the new belt drive and cast aluminum swingarm while the weight was brought down below the 200 kg dry for the first time. The change of directions are more precise now with the new weight distribution and overall balance. The engine components are lighter and more efficient. The pistons are forged aluminum and the valves have been optimized, while camshafts have been redesigned. The total weight loss – 4kg.
Although more and more competitors are entering this market (BMW, KTM, Aprilia) we believe that TMAX is still going to be the first choice for the next generation of city commuters.
