Casey Stoner, wife and a $40,000 diamond ring

Casey Stoner, the 2007 MotoGP champion, gave his wife, Adriana Tuchyna, the custom-made diamond ring to replace the modest engagement diamond he bought when he proposed. He was spotted at an Adelaide jeweller shortly before Christmas. For the ring, it is believed to be a circular diamond in a platinum setting worth (hold on) 40 grand (US dollars that is). Apparently, she was pleased with a gift :)

The pair met at Phillip Island in 2003, when Casey Stoner was politely asked to sigh an autograph….on her stomach…they were in a relationship in 2005 and married on January 6, 2007. Continue reading →

Video: Deus Moulin Rouge

We just can’t get enough of Deus Ex Machina. Here are two videos of their beautiful “model”  Moulin Rouge. Base for this bike is a well known W650, converted into extended hard-tail springer-bobber. What better music to come with this work of art than a voice of Tom Waits. Second video shows the bike in action – ridden around the streets of Sydney. Enjoy. Continue reading →

Rajputana Customs ‘Nandi’

Believe it or not, this is a custom Royal Enfield! Build by Vijay Singh and his team at Rajputana Customs in India, this bike is a prime example how true craftsmanship can transform almost any bike into a work of art. The brief was pretty straight forward: an old-school-looking fatty, with a 300mm rear tyre and a Royal Enfield 500cc engine. And that was about it, so Vijay could, from that point, do what ever he pleased. Continue reading →

SEIL Bag / Safe and “Emotional” Bicycle Equipment

Urban biking is the next big thing that is overtaking mega cities of today. It is logical that cyclist safety becomes a legitimate concern in day-to-day traffic. That’s exactly why South Korean designer Lee Myung Su came up with an idea and a solution for this problem: SEIL Bag. A compact backpack with a clever feature – LED Display (flexible PCB) on the face of the backpack. Backpack (display) communicates wirelessly with controllers attached to the bike handlebars, allowing the rider to display signals on the display instead of using hand-gestures to indicate directional turns and stops. At the end of the day, which took the Dakar riders over 440 km of road and 300 km of special where they headed into the forest and were challenged with plenty of jumps, it was the French-born Despres who finished with a slim 1:49 margin over his Spanish rival. Continue reading →
