Metal Scorpion Suzuki GSX250 / Studio Motor

THE-METAL-SCORPION-9A

As someone who had been involved in art and advertising, it’s no surprise that, when Prasetyo Wibowo (or Bowo as he’s known to friends and family) approached Studio Motors to build a custom bike, the highlight would be on artful engraving and attention to the minutest detail. The entire body was stripped, and swapped with engraved aluminium covering the tank and other major bits. Goodies include Tokico callipers. PSM Racing and Nissin brake discs front and rear, Ohlins rear shock absorbers, handmade swingarm, custom lights, clip-on handlebars, a custom exhaust system and more. The bike rolls on 17X3″ and 17X3.5″ rims paired with 120/90-17 and 130/80-17 Shinko E705 rubber. More images after the jump. Continue reading →

Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Ducati announced the introduction of the Multistrada D-Air model, featuring a fully integrated, intelligent system of sensors wirelessly connected to Ducati Apparel airbag jackets by Dainese. Is this the world’s most exclusive watch winder?

XchangeE_01

Switzerland’s creative custom automobile specialist, Rinspeed showed off its innovative new concept car, the driverless XchangE at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. And Carl F. Bucherer supports the project with the creation of one of the world’s most unusual watch winders. Integrated in the instrument panel, the exclusive Patravi TravelTec automatic enables passengers to keep track of three different time zones at once. The watch is blue in color – to match the car – and embedded in a luxurious, engraved globe, which is probably also the world’s most exclusive watch winder. When the car is idling, the sphere turns continuously, thus guaranteeing that the watch is always fully wound. Effectively, this makes the entire car a watch winder, whose exclusiveness and sophistication boost the value of the entire concept car to apparently over a million dollars.

A legend celebrates its birthday / Skoda 1000 MB turns 50

750031sko_SKODA-1000MB_50_years_001

The Skoda 1000 MB is now 50 years old. As the first Skoda with rear wheel drive, a rear engine and unibody construction, the 1000 MB is a milestone in the company’s nearly 119-year history. In its heyday, the four-door model was one of the best vehicles in the one-litre class and set new standards in terms of comfort, performance and technology. It was one of the most advanced vehicles of its time. Developed under the internal name NOV, Skoda engineers opted for a completely new vehicle concept with a rear engine, rear-wheel drive, independent suspension and unibody construction. In developing the 988cc engine, Skoda was the first European car manufacturer to utilize aluminium die-casting in engine block production. The four-speed gearbox case was also produced using this construction method. The water-cooled OHV four-cylinder engine, located behind the rear axle, delivered 37hp.
