2008 West Coast Choppers “Shadow Captain” CFL II

In US everybody can build a custom Harley-Davidson. Just look at the size of the market for custom parts there – custom frames, wheels, suspension, even the whole engines, they come in thousands. And just because everybody can do it, doesn’t mean that all of them are looking good. Jesse James nailed it with his WCC CFL – in our humble opinion. What was particularly cool about him is that he was building bikes that everybody else could, yet somehow his ones ended up better looking, more bad@ss, better balanced and ridiculously cool. Thats why Amir Glinik choose CFL II as the base for some of his 3d experiments. Meet the Shadow Captain CFL II. Continue reading →

2002 XLH1200S Cafe Racer by Tramp Cycles

Sometimes it’s all about the balance…

Check out this amazing H-D XR1200 Cafe Racer customized by Tramp Cycles, Osaka, Japan. For years and years Japanese custom builders polished and perfected their style and the way they “treated” Harleys. Today, their expression is minimal, elegant, amazingly well executed, stylish and beautiful. With so little they are able to do so much, and such is the case with Tramp’s 2002 XLH1200S bike. Custom 1963 Jawa 250 Two Stroke Bobber

Incidentally we stumbled upon this lovely machine – a 1963 Jawa 250cc two-stroke bobber – and we thought that it would be brilliant to share it with you. Built in Ukraine by the guy called “cranberry” this slick old Jawa is something special. Full of caracter with amazing garage-built details, this bike shows that it’s not all about money and good part sourcing. Custom leaf spring front end is a DIY job, as is the frame and the rest of the cool elements (old bicycle handlebars with internal wiring). Continue reading →

Ducati Monster MS4R by Paolo Tesio

Paolo Tesio had a simple idea – to improve the looks of the stock Ducati Monster S4R – but to not “over-do-it”. The result is subtle, almost streefighter-looking Monster with a new badge – MS4R! The fork covers and the rear end were custom made using the computers and the aid of 3D CNC machine. The fiberglass parts were then painted and mounted on the bike. The custom subframe is easy to mount, and if someone want a dual seat he can simply un-screw the single seat and screw the original double. Continue reading →

ZOOMER by A Beard

Little 49cc Honda Zoomer (Ruckus) is probably one of the most popular and recognizable scooters of our generation. With it’s utilitarian looks and two oversized round headlights it became an instant hit, creating a subculture dedicated only to customizing these beautiful bikes. “A Beard” – a custom shop from Japan – had their go at it, ditching the usual stretched-out-slammed looks and going for a cute looking orange Zoomer featuring a “custom seat with an integrated sissy bar”. :) Continue reading →

Proto-moto by Plan B Motorcycles / 1988 XT600z Yamaha Ténéré Cafe Racer

There’s always a Plan B…

Take what ever bike you want as your starting point. Don’t throw it in the garbage, re-use it. It doesn’t have to become a 100% restored classic, nor it has to resemble something already existing. Mix-and-match, use the old and the new together…explore. Keep one eye on the performance and other on aesthetics. Create whatever you want and feel free! That’s the philosophy of Plan B Motorcycles. To show us, this Italian workshop transformed a 1988 Yamaha XT600z Ténéré into a gorgeous Cafe Racer. Continue reading →

BMW R100 7,Oak by La Raiz Motorcycles

The old BMW R100′s are in fashion these days and this last one is coming from the Spanish custom workshop of La Raiz Motorcycles. The restauration began by sourcing the original tank from the pre-seventies model, which was in perfect condition, with original green paint and found in…Germany! The bike was then stripped off and the grinding and cleaning process began. The handle bars were replaced with aftermarket ones, while the subframe was hand fabricated for that cool flat-seat looks. 2000 Honda CBR 929RR Custom Streetfighter

The beauty in building custom bikes is that you don’t have to follow any rules and you can do whatever you like. The end result doesn’t have to fall in any of the pre-conceived categories, and you can use styling cues from all of them. This custom 2000 CBR929RR (Fireblade) is a good example as it uses the basics of the streetfighter style, yet the end result is pretty much unique. The VFR800 single swingarm went nicely together with an aftermarket Honda Civic 7.5 inch wide, 18 inch rim, the front rim was borrowe from Honda RC51 (polished lip) while the headlight came from a Harley-Davidson V-Rod!
