The 2011 EICMA exhibition was all about new maxi scooters: BMW C650GT and C600 Sport, Aprilia SRV850 and Yamaha T-Max. So the launch of the latest Piaggio flagship scooter X10 went a bit under the radar. Nevertheless Piaggio X10, a good looking maxi scooter had couple tricks up it’s sleeve: ABS, traction control and electronic suspension adjustment. The X10 will come in three engine sizes: 125cc, 350cc and 500cc. The electronic suspension adjustment will be available only on the 500cc model, allowing the rider to adjust the stiffness of the rear end on the touch of the button. Continue reading →
The Italian scooter manufacturer unveiled the new Liberty “Teens”, a more casual version of the youthful Liberty that has sold more than half a million units to date. For 2011, the Liberty 50, lighter and more popular among teenagers, is in “Teens” with a completely renewed style dedicated to its younger audience.
Liberty “Teens” is characterized by the colour contrast between the bright white body and pastel blue platform, seats, air deflectors and rear bumper. The seat, by the way, is said to be inspired by denim jackets, an all-time favourite of teenagers around the world. Continue reading →
At the Dealer Convention, an annual event reserved for Piaggio dealers and distributors around the world, two Moto Guzzi concepts with very interesting styling, were unveiled. First of two is the long awaited re-issue of California, shown in white, and another is the new version of Scrambler V7. The California prototype is powered by a 90 degrees V-Twin with the displacement of 1400cc. It is likely that the engine would retain pushrods and rockers, and will not have the DOHC.
